FORWART's missie is even duidelijk als direct.

Wij hebben niet de ambitie of de pretentie om een alternatief te bieden voor het traditionele, vaak uitgemolken traditionele aanbod in het uitgaansleven. Wel willen we een aanvulling vormen op het ontspanningsleven, en dat liefst in zoveel mogelijk verschijningen. Daarom richten we ons op een zo breed mogelijke waaier van cultuurvormen. Zo maken we zonder noemenswaardige problemen de overstap van jazz naar hip hop en de elektronische varianten, van humor naar sociale debatten, van het betere werk op filmisch vlak naar dansfeesten en van audiovisuele kunsten naar evenementen in openlucht.

Steeds houden we dezelfde gedachte voor ogen. In alles dat we doen dragen we vernieuwing en kwaliteit hoog in het vaandel en staan zowel vorm als inhoud open voor discussie. Voor onze projecten vissen we in de goedgevulde vijver van de jonge, experimentele en innovatieve kunstenaars. Die vangst vangst vullen we aan met mensen die hun strepen al hebben verdiend in het nationale en internationale kunstencircus. Dit doen we niet om onze eigen kas te spijzen, voorwaar, neen.

Onder het liefdevolle motto "Come together, right now", jaren geleden vertolkt door een Liverpools kwartet, beschouwen we het als onze taak om u, de jongen van geest, hart en lichaam samen te brengen. Een ruime levensvisie en een afkeer van het vervlakkende aanbod zijn niet verplicht, maar meer dan welkom. Denk aan de obligate "beats&bass" die de danswereld in een steeds beklemmender keurslijf wringen en de ware emoties naar de verdomhoek verdringen. Net zoals Bach mag, verdient ook Experimental Dance Music meer dan de plaats bij de paria’s van de samenleving die ze vandaag is toebedeeld.

FORWART's mission is as clear as it is direct.

We don't have the ambition to present an alternative for the traditional and more than often dried-out means of nightlife. Instead we aim to offer a supplement in the broadest meaning of the word. That’s why we focus on the widest possible array of cultural activities. Without to much hassle we’ll take the leap from jazz to hip hop, from electronic music to humour and social debates, movies and all the other forms of the audiovisual arts.

Our main ambition will always be to stand at the sharp end of the cultural landscape. Qual and change are the main features of the FORWART-mission statement. And as we live in a democracy, form and content of our projects are at all times open for discussion. When making up the line-up for our events we try to combine young and unexplored talents with the proven values of national and international acts. In doing this we try not only to sharpen the youngster’s appetite and give them worthy podium, but it will also broaden their horizon. In doing this, our aim doesn’t lie in filling our own pockets, but in, as a quartet of Liverpudlians once sang, "Come together, right now".

We see it as our task to bring together you, the young in heart and brain. An ever-expanding vision on life and growing aversion to the bluntness of the current offer are optional, but more than welcome. Think about the omnipresent "beats&bass" who force the dance-scene into a gridlock, devoid of any true emotion. Just like it’s nowadays alright to listen to classical music, Experimental Dance Music deserves more than the place among the pariah’s of society it occupies today.
